Double K Heritage Farm

Working farm, Old Fashioned perspective

We have lived in remote areas of many different states, now we are adapting what we've learned to a new climate, SW Missouri presents its own challenges and rewards for the home/farm life!

There are a good many videos online, take a look and enjoy!

Nostalgic tour of our previous place.

"What a doll. [Gypsy] really has adjusted well, and is full of love, licks and a spirit of adventure. Amazingly, the first night went extremely well.
Thanks again for the wonderful care and foundation that you provided."

Dennis & Carol F., Long Beach, Cal.

Summer sunrise heralds a new day of work on the farm!

Producing good health beef for our fanily and others is one of our goals.

We've been horse powered for several decades now, and deeply understand the need for a good mind and easy keeping attributes!

We've had our same great producing line of dairy goats since 1991, (ADGA American Alpines) prioritizing easy to work with attitudes and hardy, healthy constitutions.

Signet Dairy Goats

It's important to us to produce our own eggs... and we try to keep the hens as free ranging as possible. The Belgian Shepherds have to keep them safe, because the chickens can really go far and wide in their quest for entertaining eatin! We also expect the flock to grow up enough fried chicken for us, every summer. We tried Welsommers, then Cuckoo Marans, (who did a little setting.) 2020 is our first year with Speckled Sussex, and we're impressed with their laying, we shall see if they have much inclination to set.

Seeking a reliable broody-hen, we're crafting a flock of Large Fowl Cochins for the barnyard and our back yard... their "gentle giant" personalities make them a good fit for sharing living spaces with other animals, and they have done a stellar job of eradicating ticks in every enclosure we've pastured them in so far.

We particularly love the Golden Laced variety, they seem to lay surprisingly well, and their happy, forward personalities make them fun to have around.

Please feel free to contact us about any questions.

Because of the hustle and bustle, the best way to get a hold of us is to simply pick up the phone. There's almost always someone available to answer.

We enjoy hearing from you!

"Within 3 days of arriving [Reagan] knew Sit, down, stay, go lay down, and kennel commands. She is without a doubt the smartest Dog I have ever known.... I can say nothing but positive things. Double-K made my total experience of getting the dog of my dreams easy."

David S Roberts, New Albany, In

"I have one of the best puppies ever! Argus is such a joy. [...] He is so smart and quickly picks up on new commands.  I can't wait to teach him fly ball."
